Eagle Creek Quilt Shop
Eagle Creek Quilt Shop is located in a marvelous old railroad depot close to Downtown Shakopee. This landmark structure is in many ways an ideal setting for a quilt shop. The high ceilings are perfect for displaying full size quilts and large windows throughout the building provide great light for fabric selection. We have ample parking and "green" space for flowers and trees. Many quilters have a very active appreciation for old architecture and antiques so we frequently find ourselves surrounded by kindred spirits. We give many tours of the depot to railroad buffs.

The Blue Bamboo
The story of Blue Bamboo began in 2001 when Marv told Linda to "get a job!" Instead of finding a random retail job, Linda decided to do things her way and created an online quilt store. At first the store was tucked inside of their Maple Grove home. However, after only two years the house was bursting at its seams with thousands of bolts and hundreds of kits. It was clear that a new solution had to be found if no black holes could be procured.
This solution arrived in the form of a shop space located a few miles away in Plymouth, MN. The new location had over 2500 square feet just waiting to be filled with beloved fabrics. In true Linda fashion this was accomplished quite quickly. Word of mouth began spreading about this hidden gem lurking in the Twin Cities, and more people began to find our unexplored depths. Everything was proceeding along happy and cheerful paths until tragedy struck in Winter of 2010. On March 1, 2010 Linda was hospitalized and subsequently diagnosed with cancer. Five months later she passed away at the extremely young age of 59 on August 6. Her enthusiasm and zany personality have been missed ever since.
Fortunately Marv and Linda's daughter, Liz, had been working at her mother's side since day one. She was able to pick up the reins and begin to lead the company in new directions. 2013 has been a pivotal year for Blue Bamboo with many positive changes. We also did a lot of physical renovation around our store including: brand new lighting system that has made the store shine like the sun, a new display area in the front, fresh paint, new quilt samples, new 100% organic fabrics, new modern fabric niche, and even more ideas. We are also committed to keep doing what we have done best: having an incredible Asian section, unique kits, and thousands of Bali Batiks!

Glad Creations Inc.
The story of Glad Creations Inc. began even before we had a brick and mortar quilt shop. Gladys Raschka started a cottage business called Glad Creations making custom appliqué purses in 1971. Her basement was a busy place – making purses and greeting customers. As the years went on, all this activity began to our grow her home. Meanwhile, Gladys’ daughter, Nancy Raschka graduated from college and developed an interest in quilting. In 1976 Gladys & Nancy decided to combine their interests and opened a quilt shop that could also handle taking orders and delivering Gladys' handmade purses – and so Glad Creations, Inc. Quilt Block came into being. In 1980, Susan Dyer (daughter of Gladys, sister of Nancy) joined the team.
Today Glad Creations is a thriving quilt shop – still in its original location. We offer many classes on traditional quilting techniques as well as newer innovations. We take pride in our customer service and strive to help quilters of all levels achieve their goals. In 1985 Susan and Nancy began designing quilt patterns for classes in the shop. These patterns are now sold in quilt shops across the country.

G.E. Quilt Designs
Gudrun Erla, the designer and owner of GE Designs is born and raised in Iceland. She started quilting at the age of 23 and became totally addicted to it right away. After owning and running quilt shops in her home country and designing patterns along side it, a career move brought the family to Minnesota in 2003. Since then Gudrun has been designing full time, publishing patterns and books from her home office in Chanhassen, MN; where the family has been living since the move to the US.
Gudrun loves everything quick and simple, so her quilts might look more complicated than they really are. She loves to find ways to do things quicker and use easier methods. Her “quilt as you go” patterns have been very popular, with easy to follow instructions and quick assembly and finishing. All her patterns are geared toward today’s quilt makers, easy and fast with a modern touch. Gudrun has also been designing fabrics for Red Rooster Fabrics since 2006.
At G.E. Quilt Designs, you can find variable quilting patterns for everybody. The patterns are excellent beginner patterns but advanced sewers will enjoy them also. Maple Island Quilts
Quilt patterns from Maple Island Quilts are just a bit nontraditional. These up tempo and slightly contemporary quilt patterns are fun to stitch and achievable for most skill levels. There are no templates used in Maple Island Quilts' patterns, instead you will find clever cutting and often unexpected block rotations to make these quilts work. There are bold looks and clean design lines that allow you to put your own look into the quilt through fabric selection, block rotations and placement.
Debbie Bowles writes and publishes these innovative single quilt patterns for her company, Maple Island Quilts. Debbie has written Cutting Curves from Straight Pieces and Dancing Quilts from Straight Pieces both published by American Quilters Society.
